This Week in Magic 10th Edition World-wide Game Day is almost here and is on Saturday, July 14th. Reya Dawnbringer is the very cool looking promo card to be handed out and has new artwork. Take a gander at these YouTube Wizards ads for Magic Game Day and the Pro Tour! Check out the card scans for the 16th card (scan1, scan2, scan3) in the 10th Edition packs that will feature Creature Token cards and Tips and Tricks, cool stuff! The August FNM promo card will be Goblin Ringleader. With the past two FNM promo's being Goblin Legionnaire and Engineered Plague, is it a Wizards conspiracy to bring Tribal to the next level? :^) MTGCast News Derek and some of the crew from "The Manacast" drove from Green Bay, WI to Minneapolis, MN for the Minneapolis PTQ and spent the night in the luxurious apartment of Tom! Gavin asks about a possible meet-up at The Magic Weekend. And lastly, this was the first LIVE MTGCast episode and features our new (and hopefully better) way of recording. Not only should the sound quality be better, but listeners can listen live, call in with comments and chat with the hosts while they record (and correct us when needed). News Preview card of the week: Lagoon Guardian Tom also asks the listeners and hosts about the next best step to keep Ah-Hoy! moving forward and keeping the set on track. Emails and Comments Dom reads an email from a listener who wants the "Combo of the Week" segment back. Tom talks about some great forums posts. First is Sinborn on the MTGCast forums wanting to see some more about the "Type II Generations" segment and seeing the "Black Summer" Necropotence deck take on some current decks. TestDrive on the MTGSalvation forums gives a nice description of the different hosts and what they bring to the show. Tom also reads an awesome Thallid deck list from TestDrive named "Thelon's Fungal Felons"! Jack-henry also writes that Legends are incredibly popular from Tribal at the local store. Gavin reads some emails and has one listener who wants a tourney-centri segment to complement the Tribal segment, and it just might be called "Gaming Galore with Gavin"! Tribal Time with Tom Tribe of the week is Warriors. A cool tribe with a large number to choose from and are heavily grounded in the colors of red, green and black. Tom explores a R/B deck centered around Hellbent and graveyard interactions. Some of the key warriors are Korlash, Heir to Blackblade, Jagged Poppet, Golgari Thug and Gathan Raiders. Useful with all of this graveyard generation is some old-school cards like Oversold Cemetary or Oath of Ghouls to keep recurring those tasty Korlash, Heir to Blackblade's over and over again! Add in some graveyard friendly spot removal like Darkblast, Crippling Fatigue and Strangling Soot. Tribe for next week is: Rats! Tribe for next^2 week is: Birds! Stump the Chump Will Shanks wonders about how Madness interacts with Smallpox and an instant like Dark Withering. Tom wonders how a Mogg is different than a garden-variety Goblin.
